Nylon Nesting Brackets
MH&W Nylon Nesting Brackets are specialized mounting solutions designed specifically to secure CoolBlue® inductive absorbers (common-mode cores) in power electronics applications. These brackets simplify the installation process by providing a stable, snap-in or bolt-on framework that prevents the cores from shifting or vibrating within the cabinet.
Made from durable, high-temperature nylon, they are engineered to withstand the thermal demands of high-frequency environments while ensuring the cores are properly spaced for optimal cooling and performance. By utilizing a "nesting" design, they allow for a compact footprint, making them an essential accessory for engineers looking to reduce EMI in motor drives and inverters without compromising on structural integrity or ease of maintenance.
Powder Coated Steel Brackets
The MH&W powder-coated steel brackets offer a sleek and professional mounting solution for installing CoolBLUE cores within electrical cabinets. Designed primarily for aesthetic appeal, these brackets ensure a clean, uniform look by neatly organizing core stacks and maintaining precise alignment around the power cables. The durable powder-coated finish provides a polished, high-end appearance that complements professional control panel standards, transforming the installation into a well-organized and visually streamlined component of the overall drive system.
Oscilloscope
Oscilloscopes visualize high-frequency electrical signals by plotting voltage against time, which is essential for identifying the rapid transients found in common mode current. This real-time analysis allows for the precise measurement of peak currents and noise frequencies that standard meters would miss.
The Siglent SHS820X is our recommended handheld oscilloscope for these tests, offering 200 MHz bandwidth and isolated channels for safe, accurate data capture. When paired with a Rogowski coil, its high sampling rate and portable design allow for detailed monitoring of common mode current in space-constrained or high-voltage environments.
Rogowski Coil
Rogowski coils are flexible, wrap-around sensors designed to measure alternating current (AC) by sensing the magnetic field produced by a conductor. Unlike rigid current transformers, their air-core design prevents saturation, allowing for accurate measurement of high-speed transients and high-frequency noise like common mode current.
For our testing, we recommend PEM CMC Rogowski Coils, which are specifically engineered with high-frequency shielding to minimize interference from voltage fluctuations. These probes provide a slim, flexible form factor that easily fits around motor shafts or power cables, delivering a precise voltage signal to the oscilloscope for real-time current analysis.
